Our story together began in June of 2024. Lilah was a stray who was abandoned at my sister's job site. I received a picture of her and knew she had to be mine. I couldn't take off work, so I paid to have her transported half way across the country and drove 10 hours roundtrip to pick her up. She took a while to settle into her new home, but I could see how special she was. Despite her hesitance, she was always near when she thought I needed her. That behavior grew into her knowing me better than I know myself sometimes.
Together, Lilah and I completed service dog training. While interviewing for jobs, I was met with the harsh reality of the prevalence of discrimination. With Lilah there to ground me, I founded The Roo-T of Emergency Response Training LLC. The Roo-T is not only a place for Lilah and I to succeed, but where everyone can feel comfortable learning without judgement.
The Roo-T of Emergency Response Training LLC honors Lilah's devotion to being my teammate, and her inspiring nature. Lilah gave me my life back and now, together, we own a business that's rooted in integrity, confidence, education and empowerment. Lilah and I are excited to share this space with you, and we can't wait to meet you!
